BE#15: Born From A Boombox (Feb 27)

Salut!!

I personally made this article for one of my classes. This is what I’ve realized (

BFAB. BFAB stands for born from a boombox. Every person has his own beat, his own tune, and his own melody. It is not necessary for everyone to understand your music but you'll find people who will. You'll call them your friends.

Friendly is the most common adjective you'll get as an answer when you ask people about the traits of a DLSU-M freshman La Sallian. La Sallians are known to be really friendly. Along with this compliment, they, according to the people around them, are also known to be hard party goers but is this really the case? A survey was conducted to verify the stereotype of DLSU-M freshmen La Sallians.

45 freshmen La Sallians were surveyed. Each student was asked about the number of times they visit a mall, a pub, or a club per week. The results are as follows:

69% of the students surveyed said that they go out on weekdays. Out of those students, 65% said that they only go out once per week. It only goes to show that even though most of them said that they go out even on weekdays, it is evident that they are they are really focused on other things rather than their social life.

The survey proves that DLSU-M freshmen students actually spend most of their time in school more than anywhere else. The common stereotype for them is that they are hard party goers but with the help of the survey conducted, that assumption was proved to be inapplicable to them. In addition to this, 100% of the respondents agreed that their academic life is very important for them.

Other than a survey, an impromptu interview was also conducted.

47% said that they are not active with regards to co-curricular activities. This is so because they prioritize their academics, they have no time, and that they have other priorities.

The 53% left believes that participating and being active in co-curriculars will be advantageous to them not only in the future but also in their academics.

Aside from learning from seminars and talks, they also earn incentives when they participate in the projects of their mother organization or most especially when they go to events for a cause. An example of which is a fund raising activity recently held by an organization inside DLSU-M.

Freshmen La Sallians sure do know how to live life to the fullest. They like parties and enjoy having a good time but even though they do, they know when to. They know their priorities and when to prioritize what first. They have proven that we can benefit from something we enjoy doing.

Studies on the other hand still remains their top priority since they know it will have a longer effect on them which eventually will help them in their futures.

That's all for now!

Merci beaucoup, Au revoir,

Carl               `
